As a Partner in the Toronto office, Avo works closely with clients to analyze corporate needs and culture, tailor leadership recruitment strategies and build organizational success. In addition to leading a generalist practice, Avo leads Caldwell’s Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and Medical Devices practice. He also specializes in a number of other sectors in the marketplace, including industrial manufacturing, transportation, logistics, hospitality and business services. His search practice has focused on senior executives (the board, chief executive officer, and their direct reports) in both private equity portfolio and high-growth publicly held companies.

Avo started his professional career with Ernst & Young’s Consulting Division. He then pursued a career in the most senior levels of sales and marketing in global hospitality, professional services and private education corporations.

Avo is a member and past board director of Meeting Professionals International (MPI); sits on numerous human resource roundtables with a variety of industry associations; is very involved in his community of Markham-Unionville and is engaged in the McGill University Alumni Association. Fluent in English, French, Armenian and conversational Spanish, he has extensive professional training in leadership development, team building, and change management techniques. Avo holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing and International Business from McGill University.
